Soccer City, presently known as the FNB Stadium and located in the southwest of the city close to the National Exhibition Centre, is all set to be the main stadium for next year’s FIFA World Cup. It is currently being upgraded from an 80,00 seat stadium into one that should seat just short of 95,000 football fans, and is earmarked for the opening and closing games of the event. The upgrade also includes new changing rooms and floodlights. It is also a next door to the home of the South African Football Association and its new headquarters, SAFA House. You’ll have to travel a little further out from Soccer City to find an apartment though. Luxury Apartment Charter has a number of apartments in Parktown North, a suburb next door to Rosebank, and an ideal base for getting to and from Soccer City.
Johannesburg will be inundated with soccer fans from all over the world this time next year. Already hotels are becoming fully booked for the duration of the World Cup, and fans travelling to South Africa to attend the Soccer City events have to resort to other means of accommodation such as apartments. Our apartments are ideal for Soccer City. They are situated in central Johannesburg, from where there will be plenty of transport to the stadium. The apartments are self-catering, but also just a stone’s throw from some of South Africa’s finest restaurants. The area is also full of shopping malls, flea markets, antique shops, and is within easy striking distance of golf courses and other major sports venues.
